Irony of the Day

1. My new goal in life is to read all Sherlock Holmes books (the real Doyle ones, not those who're sorta related to Holmes) ASAP. I've started the 2nd book in the canon: The Sign of Four, Penguin Classics edition.

As expected, there is an Introduction section, and under the title it reads:

WARNING: In discussing this story, it has sometimes been unavoidable that crucial elements of the plot have been given away. Readers encountering this story for the first time, therefore, might prefer to read this Introduction afterwards.

An introduction that does not introduce. Lovely.

2. A friend of mine sent me the link to this article: "Pretty women anger more easily."

Yet women who anger more easily are not considered to be pretty by the majority. Interesting.
